David Mackey was born in Miami, Florida. At six months old, David and his family moved to Winter Park, Florida, and have called it home ever since. It was obvious at an early age David excelled in sports. This passion for sports led to playing soccer at Wake Forest University followed by a professional career for 12 years playing for teams in the US and the UK. David took the same tremendous passion for soccer and carried it over to his acting career, which formally began in 1993.
David has been fortunate to work with many great Actors and Directors in a variety of roles. He is a very organic actor and brings the same level of enthusiasm to each and every role he undertakes.
Early on in his career he spent seven and a half years between the Universal Orlando Theme Parks and Walt Disney World in Orlando, demonstrating his natural athletic ability with the characters of Indiana Jones in “The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular” at Walt Disney World, Sindbad in “The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad,” Brett Taylor in “The Wild Wild West Stunt Show,” as well as playing T-1000 at the “Terminator 2/3D” experience at Universal Orlando. David also originated the role of host for the “Fear Factor Live” show at Universal Orlando.
Live performances gave David a showcase for his talents as well with roles ranging from Aerialist work in New York City for Jockey to the Protector in “Aida,” and even playing Rocky in a local theatrical performance of the “Rocky Horror Stage Show.”
Most Notably in David’s film credits are the roles in such films as “Tooth Fairy 2” as Beauregard “Bo” Billings starring Larry the Cable Guy, “Bait Shop” as Roy starring Bill Engvall, “Dead By Friday” as Mike Sambusco starring Richard Hatch and John Martino, and “The Sacred” in which he starred as Pete.
David has co-starred on such television programs as “Burn Notice” and ”Drop Dead Diva”; and he has been a stunt double on the series “CSI: Miami,” and in the film “Bachelor Party 2.”
David is not limited in his work. He has done numerous local and regional spots as well as National Campaigns for Television and Print Media. David does a lot of Voice Over work. He has also done a number of Internet campaigns and Industrials for such clients as Courtesy Toyota, Superchips, Xerox, Gander Mountain and Vermont Teddy Bear.
David is more then just a look. He is a very talented Actor who believes there’s always another way to make your performance great.
David stays fit with many of his outdoor activities. Soccer is at the top of his list. He is a walking talking advocate for good health and wellness.
